Hello Gents ,
Just picked up a new bike with Suntour X1 fork
It has the remote lockout on bars and I noticed that if locked out and roll of a kerb for example there is a clunking almost metal on metal sound , surely this is not normal ?
Any ideas before I contact the shop ?

Well really you shouldn't be doing that with the fork locked out anyway, it'll damage it! Not sure what noise it would make if you did that though.0

Is the lockout fully engaged?0

If it is a mechanical lockout it can damage the interns.
What exact model of fork is it? Raidon X1? Epicon X1? Something else? And as before, are you sure the cable is turning the lockout dial fully?0 -
Yes sorry it is a Raison X10

It shouldn't clunk loudly.0

I ve had a look to see if the lockout was working fully .
I couldn't see anything wrong so re installed it and the noise went away.
After a couple more trials and no noise the noise has come back .
So it looks like something not quite right with the locking Mechanism0 -
Probably not fully engaging, ie slack cable tension, or the ratchet under misaligned.0

^^
Supersonic is probably right. Raidon lockout mechanism doesn't cope well with dirt- (the spring button type, the other works by turning knob thingy). It may not engage properly or sometimes get stuck in locked position. Anyway you should not hit obstacles with locked fork- it is a big no, no.0
