Agreed, and Im nervously allowing myself a bit more hope that the peloton is truly clean (save the odd italian/spanish arsehole) as I really think after the trouble that the set up has been through over the last few years, a rider would have to be a total klootzakken to dopeWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Tour de Jour.
What a crock of sh!t.
If you're not being irritated by Mart Smeets it's not the Tour.0 -

FTFY
Also, I think the new hierarchy with cycling’s perennial nearly-man Gesink playing third (?) fiddle to Mollie and Ten Dam is a more dynamic spectacle.0 -

Great ride by the Belkin boys. Mollema conceded a mere 6 sec to Alberto. Great stage to watch. At this point in the race and the last week in France the cameras will hopefully focus a bit more on the battle for 2nd and 3rd place.0

Don't forget his lovely assistant, Ten Dam, too. Both in the top 5 at this point? Never saw that coming.
Mollema is another rider who is consistently very good throughout the entire season. I'm not sure what that says, but I think it's a good thing.
Does anyone know if he's doing the Tour-Vuelta double again this year?0 -

Noted. See above.
Re. consistently being good: remaining healthy and fit helps a lot, but I also think that cycling for a "new" team or at least a brand new sponsor helps alot. Especially with all the sh*t flying about in the last days of the rabo age. Add to that the will to become the team #1 and a positive outlook, Bauke (and Laurens) definitely should have a crack at the vuelta.0 -

Indeed, makes a change from having your face bandaged up. Is there such a thing as sleep riding rather than walking?
