Creaking wired tyres?

Hi all - has anyone else found that wired tyres creak? I've just bought a tandem and fitted some 28c wired gator hard shells ( never had a problem fitting anything before but these were an absolute *******). There's been a really annoying creak from the rear rim ever since and I've just discovered that deflated, all seems fine, but inflated to the recommended 95 psi, it creaks again. The rims are mavic A719 if that helps.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
