I guess so but you won't find better braking than shimano (SRAM, Campag & TRP are good though) so I'd stick to that myself.I'd guess 105 brakes would be better in terms of stopping power.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

Unless you are a true feather weight stay clear. The stopping power is terrible.

Just got some Ultegras from JE James for £55 with the online discount voucher from their website - filppin bargain IMO much better than the stock Tektros that came on the bike and look darn sexy!

I don't find the stopping power a problem on PX brakes - I've got Swiss Stop yellow pads and they stop really well on my carbon clinchers.Selling my Legend frame

Yep +1 +2 in fact i have those on two bikes both with coolstop pads and they're just fine, last week i was in the alps riding brand new 105 brakes, first proper ride out i found zero stopping power at speed with the standard shimano brake pads, so swapped over to swissstop black, problem solved. I should also add that none of my standard campag pads needed changing out of the box.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

+1 for the px brakes, with swisstop pads.0

I ran the stock pads that they came with so cant comment on the Swiss fellas.

You can't compare them to 105 and above, pain in the ass brakes...light but shite0

I bought the CNC ones and they have been great from day 1. Increased power than my old set and easy to whip out wheels when there is punctures.
Switched wheels to some wide rim carbons and they came with specific pads. No problems changing and easy to tune calipers to cater for the wider rims.0 -
PX brakes are rubbish. Fiddly to set up, impossible to keep centered, and they flex like Arnie. Check the WW threads for the low-down.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

In fairness, I've heard very mixed reports of them myself...never bought any though.
Agree with earlier comments about the importance of good pads - at least as important as caliper choice.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0 -

Hardly overweight and my LBS is run by a Welsh Cycling mechanic. :P
They don't hold a candle to Dura Ace or most factory calipers and braking is the last place I want to make compromises on my bike. If you're going aftermarket to save weight on brakes the only real choice is EE.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0 -
Demoed a N2A at Planet X last week that had these brakes on. The sales guys couldn't adjust the rear one so it didn't rub before I took it out, and after 5 minutes the front one had gone out of adjustment too. Braking performance seemed OK, but then I'm 10 stone and I wasn't exactly riding down Alp d'Huez.
Based on my experience so far, I wouldn't....0 -
I had some of the CNC ones with swiss stop green pads that I took off to put the 105's back on. I didnt think they were good....
But a guy I ride with has them and he stops on a 6 pence.
Think it depends on how you manage to set them up.....0 -
