Smallest sprocket on Nexus
To set the scene, I am designing a 20'' wheeled bike and I need the smallest possible front and rear chainrings (for complicated reasons!). I will probably run a Nexus hub, though I'm open to other sytems (S-A, Alfine etc) but i believe that you can only go down to a 16 rear sprocket with Nexus.
16x32 gives me 80.4'' with an Alfine 11 but I'd need a 42 ring with nexus for a similar gear. I really could do with a 13 on the back, or smaller. Any ideas if this is possible?

I have 65 teeth on the chainring for my 20" wheel bike. Why can´t you have something similar?0

Thanks for the reply. I understand the notion of gears ( ) but I really want a small chainring and hence a small rear sprocket. I said it was complicated!
The 65 chainring sounds cool (and fast) but it's not for me.0 -
How can anything on a bike be that complicated? They are simple machines, thats their beauty.0

I meant that I didn't want to bore you with the long winded reasons why i wanted a smaller sprocket. So, do you know or not??0 -
You have visited SRAM, Shimano, Rholoff and other websites, right? For even smaller chainrings try this : http://www.joe-bike.com/accessories/int ... ared-hubs/0
