Just rescued this from certain death. It needs work but as I' currently recovering from breaking my hip while falling off my bike it'll give me something to do to pass the time :)
Does anyone know what it might be as I haven't a clue?

it is a BSO and should be left to die.

  • There was some suggestion of it being a Kinesis?

The most valuable parts are the inner tubes. Even with punctures.

My brother bought something similar from Sports Direct at Shirebrook last year he thought it was a bargain for £35, it then cost him another £30 to get the front forks replaced as the bikes were being sold off as factory seconds and the front forks were bent to one side atout 30degrees, we couldn’t bend them back without breaking the welds!
The peddles were not fitted and ended up being both lefthand threaded so they didn’t fit.

Think the one he bought was a Muddy Fox or a Dunlop one….either way a real pile of cr*p

The frames of the Donnay, Mountain Ridge and Silver Fox bikes all look the same to me...not being snobby but I’d lose it somewhere if it were me….or give it to a local tramp

I don't know how they sell them for the money, the steel frames are so heavy the scrap value of the steel is 50% of the cost (and 150% of the value) of the bike.

You mean you couldn't tell that was the biggest piece of wank EVER just by looking at it!

Still looks better than the new Orange 5 mind!
  • I just feel sorry for it lol.Anyway got it for free and just sold it for £10,00 so not coplaining. Still stuck without a project to pass the time while my hip heals. Anyone selling a very cheap road bike just to use with a turbo trainer while Im fit enough and confident enough to get back out on my bike .

Just stick a slick on the back of your RR8.1, I have an old one you can have FOC (WTB Slickasaurus) (Leam Spa)

  • Thanks for the offer but I'm a bit reluctant to have my RR8,1 on a trainer as I'm slightly nervous about going back out on a bike and if it was upstairs it'd be easier in my head to avoid going outside, By leaving it in the garage I'd have to go out on it eventually as I couldn't stand it not being used.
    Hope this makes sense lol.

Hmm the comma suggests that three digits follow the "10", and perhaps she forgot the extra 0, meaning she sold it for 10k, even better.
