Looking at replacing the tyres on girlfriends Canondale SL5 from the truelly awful Schwalbe Rapid Rob. They slip horrendously at 40 psi they came from the shop and are no better at 30 psi or the lowest I was willing to go with them 25 psi. Crap on the gravel, crap on the rocks and are just crap.

I run high Rollers 2.35 60A on mine and I get the odd slip but not anywhere near the above tyres. Any other alternatives from high Rollers so she has a choice. Need a good all rounder. Gisburn is bone dry at the moment though.

Nothing wrong with Rapid Robs in a decent compound, like most OE fit tyres they are probably made of something more akin to plastic than rubber.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

No compound is going to save you on gravel except skill.

Robs are just crappy compound of the old Ralph tread pattern. Came with a Cube I used to have and did not last long on the bike.

As Dad says, nothing grips on gravel. All you'll do is grip the top layer but the rest will go from under you. Weight distribution and speed is all that will help you.

That said, a decent compound, even of the same tyres will help on the roots and rocks.
