Hi all,

After recently having my sunglasses sat on, I need a new pair I can use while riding. Budget is around £20 give or take. Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Lewis

Bolle safety glasses on Ebay, plenty of styles, various tints, under a tenner.

Get down to your local Lidl they have got a big stock of comfy, cheap but tough sunglasses on sale. A lot of my mates are using them, I am not because I have a head like a pumpkin and they dont fit me but if your not deformed like me they will be fine.

Would you trust them not to shatter in your eyes? Are they a trusted brand?

I like Silium, but Contour are similar but slimmer. I just get clear ones as I ride in trees a lot but the ESP are quite decent in sun.
I tend to drop, ride over, stand on them regularly so whatever cheap really.

Just ordered contours, all three lenses and the case for £25. I'm not sure though, I may have ordered 3 sets of glasses ;) still a bargain anyway!

    Thanks for your help,

The lenses don't come out so you probably ordered three sets.

I wear contours too. Same as cooldad, I spend most of my time in the forest.

I use bolle contours, brilliant specs. Last time I suggested them to someone on these forums though, I got ribbed for it.

There safety glasses. By law they have to be polycarbonate (shatter proof and UV protective) as well as be permanently fixed into the frame, unlike cycling specific and sunglasses, otherwise they wouldn't be safe to use as PPE in factories and building sites.

Actually spent over a grand in sports/safety glasses three years ago, including the entire Bolle safety range (they were cheap). Got cupboards full of them. As people have recommended above the Contours with ESP lenses are probably the best all rounders, with a really nice tint that isn't too dark.
