Fitting DI2 Firmware Update SM-PCE1 Tool

I've managed to get hold of the Firmware Update box for DI2. Unfortunately though I can't work how to fit it. It seems I should find a spare junction but I can't find one.
Peeling back one of the hoods on the shifters I can't see a spare socket. Do I need to take one hood completely off?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.

Easiest thing to do is have a wire from the tool into a junction box and then a wire coming out of the junction box. Unplug the rear mech, plug the loose cable from the junction box into the rear mech and the rear mech cable into the junction box.0

Thanks. I kind of wondered if that was the best way to go. The wires are very close together as they go into the junction box and even using the tool it looked a bit tricky. Thought I'd better check that I was doing the right thing first and that I wasn't missing anything obvious. I'll try again tonight.0 -

No - when you peel back the shifter hood rubber a bit there are two sockets and the one without the wire coming out is likely to have a little plastic holding plug in there which you need to pull out in order to insert the firmware update box wire. The plastic plug has a little hole drilled in it so you can get it out (I used a toothpick).
Or you can just plug into RD as previous poster suggests. Depending on which firmware you have it sometimes insists on being plugged directly into the battery holder to update that bit first and then it can do everything else (well mine did anyway)0 -
Does anyone know of an LBS or rider in Essex that has the upgrade box?
I am not sure I want to buy one but happy to pay a fee for using one/watching the work being done.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S
