Mark, sure you're going through some difficulties at the moment as a fellow event promotor, you have my sympathies. Wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy. Hope you're soon back around having a light hearted discussion on safety pins or alike.

I'd just like to echo the above. The news from Abergavenny last night was terrible. Best wishes to all involved.0

2nd time this year a similar incident has occurred and yet still every race I see people taking similar risks...its just a race people...not worth dying for.
I raced in a race organised by pross earlier in the year and found it professionally run and safe. I hope this doesn't stop your enthusiasm for holding cycling events in the future as the scene needs people like you.0 -
My thoughts and sympathies as well. Terrible thing to happen for all involved. Stay safe everyone.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

I was in the race, but had been dropped and wasn't in the bunch at the time. The conduct from all the organisers, commisaires, and riders alike was exemplary. Thoughts are with the family and friends. I'd like to hope no one will ever have to lose their life doing what they love again.0

Ben was not just a clubmate, but a friend and one hell of a guy. It's an absolute tragedy and he is sorely missed.
As per his wishes his organs have been donated so as to hopefully give others a chance to pursue their passions, much like he pursued his.
I hope that you (Pross) realise that this wasn't your fault and that no one blames you.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0 -

Many thanks to you all for your kind words. I won't comment on the incident as I didn't witness it and it is currently being fully investigated by the police. I would also be grateful if others don't speculate as it could add further to the grief of those involved. My condolences go out to Ben's family and also to all the riders, officials and marshalls who witnessed the incident and in particular to Ben's friends and club mates. It has hit everyone who was present at the race extremely hard. RIP Ben.0
