Raleigh Clubman Triple Chainring addition

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to add/convert my double chainring to a triple chainring. I am doing the Gran Fondo Whistler in 2 months time and would quite like to do it on this bike; however, I feel that I will need the lower gears to help with the elevation. If this is possible, what cost range would I be looking at?

    That's quite a low gear you've got on there anyway with a 34/30. You'll not get much lower with a triple.

    To do it you'll need a triple front shifter, triple chainset and triple front derailleur. You've already got a 30T cassette on there so I'll assume your rear mech is going to be fine.

    As for cost it's up to you, and depends on whether you stick with Tiagra or move up. But you're best off looking around on ebay and the classifieds here and other websites and also pricing up new.
