London to Brighton bike ride - 8 September 2013

Hello everyone! I have entered the London to Brighton bike ride on 8 September 2013 in support of new cycling charity Bike 4 Cancer - see http://www.bike4cancer.org/london-to-brighton-bike-ride-2013 for more information. It seems like good value to me. The entry fee is only £35 and this includes a buffet lunch mid-route.
I wondered if anyone had cycled in the September ride before? I took part in the BHF event a few years ago and didn't really enjoy it because it was so congested.
This event is limited to 5,000 riders so I hope this will allow us to get the power down and crack on. Has anyone got experience of this ride?
