Hi,

What is your favourite app for tracking/recording your cycle tours? and why? What features do you find useful? What features would be on your wishlist?

I'm interested to hear all opinions. I'd be particularly interested if anyone uses an Android app that fulfills my criteria - I want to document my cycle journey home from Singapore to Edinburgh.

My wish list in order of importance:
1) Ability to put a world map with my progress on my blog.
2) Low power – I'd ideally like an app that switches the GPS on/off at regular intervals and just grabs my location.
3) Ability to manually add/modify points – if dead battery/no signal/etc I still want to be able to map my progress.
4) Mapping that works out the logical route I have followed based on a few points, but will also allow an override, and also allows point-to-point straight line for remote/rough roads that are off the map.

    Hi Steve,

I´m using Wikiloc for my own tracks, You can share all your tracks but you need a computer to edit them. http://en.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/home.do

I´ve discovered a new app in App Store, Tracklander. I was using the app in my car when I was travelling in Portugal the last month.I don´t know how is working on bycicles but they give you a full map of the area (offline), the main track and pictures of every key crossing. http://www.tracklander.com

    Regards!
  • I use LocaToWeb which is a real time tracker that enables your family to follow you while riding. The app gives you duration, speed and altitude directly in the display as well as you position with track line. It also stores your tracks in an archive onhttp://locatoweb.com under your account. Using the app you can be as anonymous as you like since you track under an Alias, and you can set the tracks to be private (not visible to everyone). Can also capture and upload photos. Versions for Android, iPhone and WP8.
