Theoretically this fits, however boot is thin aluminium. Anyone out there with any experience of the rack? Would be carrying relatively light weight boardman ht pro carbon.

I wouldn't. When I had one I had a towbar.

I've seen a guy at Stainburn a few times with a rack on his (old shape) MX5 (I think he works at Stif Cycles, I've seen it parked behind there too).
