Do you really need a QR?
Thomson clamps are as tough as old boots.0 -
What bit's actually bent?
The part with the thread on is usually steel.0 -
Hmm, to be fair dont really need a QR as i generally set up my bike before i go ride.... will look at the thomsons.
The arm that closes is bent, not the thread0 -
The superstar ones are fine.0

I've had problems cheap or light-weight clamps letting me down, literally, which is why Thomson is my clamp of choice these days.
I found that some are just too flimsy to get tight enough and the seat post slips down, but that may be a combination of frame and seat post not helping.0 -
I had a problem with my seatpost moving down. Try roughing up the post where it clamps with some wet and dry.Planet X Kaffenback 2

Yeah mine was moving down earlier.. seat post tube fairly rough textured already.
Does anyone know what size clamp i would need for a Rockrider 8.1 ive taken the existing QR clamp off and measured the downtube.. it measures about 35mm and the clamp measures internally 36mm when slack0 -
34.9/35 then.I don't do smileys.
