Appolo Fusion - any good?

Hi all
Looking at replacing my stolen bike with http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165710, my main question is what will I need to change? My Carrera got a puncture every dozen miles until I changed the tyres for more toughened ones, will it be the same with this one?
Or any other suggestions, I just want a cheap road/race bike to commute and very occassionally race on.

I wouldn't want to race - or ride at all for that matter - on anything with butterfly gear shifters. I would strongly recommend trying to up your budget to £300 and getting a Carrera TDF or a B'Twin Triban 3.0

I had a Carrera and it just got stolen, so I was thinking of getting a cheaper bike and hopefully no-one will go to the effort of stealing it.
Also I give in, what are 'butterfly gears'?0
