My bike currently has a Selle Italia X1 Cube edition. Looks great but is rock hard and my bum hurts sometimes.

The Charge Spoon comes up a lot but what else is good? Budget is max £50.

I've been using a charge spoon for quite a while, but have just switched to this Specialized Avatar for a bit more comfort. http://www.specializedconceptstore.co.u ... Comp%20Gel
Its £5 over your budget but worth a try.

Charge Spoon is a safe bet. Also SDG Bel-Air.

Got one last week from Leisure Lakes next day delivery http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/p/9630 ... oon-saddle

Saddles are a very personal thing, what's good for one person isn't necessarily good for another. Try visiting a Specialized or Fizik dealer, they often have trial sadlles that you can borrow to see how you get on with them.

I find my Selle Italia x1 as comfortable as my Charge Spoon. It actually has a little more "give" than the Spoon.

The spoon or Madison Flux get my vote, the flux is essentially the same, slightly softer padding and a tad lighter IIRC. Either are very good. Charge also just released the Scoop, very similar to the spoon and the design looks top notch, very neat and tidy.

I've just fitted a Madison Flux. First impressions are good, and it's cheap.

I don't think you can beat Specialized saddles for comfort and anatomical fit - especially for fellas. I ride Avatar Comp Gel saddles both offroad and on tarmac and they are superb. I have tried Selle and WTB saddles in the past but comfort is king for me. Have a look at http://www.specialized.co.uk/us/en/ftb/saddles for more info - I think you should be able to find a Avatar Comp online for about £45.
