    That's a shame; it's supposed to be a bottle of wine, so i guess a prop for the stage.

    Pretty sure it's supposed to be a bottle of water. I assume that in the 50s water came in glass bottles like wine. You can see the bottle up close here, but I can't quite make out the label... http://www.lequipe.fr/explore/born-to-climb/

    I got the wine reference from the Pro-Cycling mag '100 years of the TdF' - "Italians Gino Bartali and Fausto Coppi share a bottle of wine as they race along in 1949"

    Two different photos I believe. The one above is clearly a wine bottle... this one looks to be more of a water bottle...
