I live in Milton Keynes, and I have a day off booked all to myself at the end of July. I'm planning a long (!00+ miles) ride out. Any good ideas?

Cheers

Michael

Ride to Henley on Thames, Team MK did that route last weekend.

Its a great route and just over 100 there and back.

Sounds a great idea - is there a map of the route I could have a look at?

You could do 40 laps of Willen lake, but that'd be plain silly :-)

I was vaguely tempted to get an early train up to whitehaven, and do the coast to coast!

    Hello fellow MK roadie.

I would head north from MK to Roads, across to Silverstone, Out west towards Bicester and swing into Winslow via the Claydons. Stop for something at Jenny Wrens in Winslow... They even sell tubes should you need! Back out from Winslow via the Claydons towards Waddeson, then Waddeson to Whit church, then towards Leighton and back towards MK.
  • How long would it take to ride the grid system and spell out 'Tour De France' on Strava?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

    Another MK rider here.
Another option would be to have a gander online for the evansMKsportive 90mile route then just add on a little extra should you wish.

    Hi Chris,

Team MK are your best bet. They meet on Stony high street on a Saturday morning. Twenty3c also do club rides, as do Team Corley Cycles.
