I've got a Keith Coppell bike that I want to restore, can you suggest some LBSs in the Liverpool, north Wales or Slough areas that could do the work.

cheers

Bob

It is a shame you are not closer to Suffolk. I know of no old fashioned bike shops in Liverpool. The one on edge Lane did notice though I had a Cinelli Grammo stem which means at least the mechanic has been doing his thing for a few years or more.

Thats got to be Harry Quinns on Edge Lane, google the name and it will become clear why that mechanic spotted the stem.

In terms of restoration, it probably means some fine wire wool / Scotchbrite, metal polish and an ample supply of elbow grease. Apart from needing a good clean, polish and new bar tape there isn't much you could do yourself if you have the inclination. Most LBS operate on replacing old with new parts as that's where the margin is. You could also try Retrobike Forum.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
