Worth getting this crack repaired?
Have a really nice crack near the BB on the rear stay (cracks have appeared on both side) - I am not sure if it's been caused by transportation in bike box to/from Tenerife or if it's been caused by the tyre rub on the inside when the rear wheel was incorrectly seated. Is it worth paying to get it fixed, can it be fixed properly and will it be safe after a 'fix'?
Cheers.

Will be safe if repaired but not look very nice0

The crack itself is pretty ugly, but it should be safe to ride. If you don't care about the looks and you're on a tight budget, you could leave it like that and just apply some minor fixing. Otherwise, just replace it, but honestly I'd go on with repairing it. Try some PlastiFix, works like a charm - I used it myself when I got a crack similar to yours.0

Get it repaired properly if you go that route, a home repair will only add a resin cover and not repair the damaged weave which is where the strength lies.
Check with frame manufacturers whether they cover it, if it has just happened without a crash or cause then its a materials failure and they should repair/replace.

I'd be getting that looked at if I were you. As Gavin says, get it done properly too.

Brilliant! I'm amazed at your X-ray vision and that you can see that it's only superficial. Looks like a full thickness crack due to crushing - I would suggest the frame has been structurally compromised and if you can't get to the inside of the stays to reinforce them, then as an external repair might be tricky as it could restrict tyre clearance.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0 -

to me it looks like scrap.
but without having it in my hands it is impossible to say.
either get it someone who can or hang it on the wall as an ornament. and see what if any come back you have on who shipped it."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
