Hello,
I would like to know what brakes type has got my mtb. I know there are at least two different sizes of that "brake pad "rod" " -> see picture for what I mean http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mbqOTi_1LJEML9kWlby7olg.jpg - that is that silver-like rod on this picture.
I don't know how is this rod called but I do know my mtb ones are exactly 5.3 mm wide. Rods from other bike pads are like 7 milimeters. So if anyone knows how are that 5.3mm brakes named or even if for example this pads would fit my bike http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cycling-bicycle-Baradine-Bike-V-Brake-Pads-Shoes-durable-and-non-slip-T5-/330931092823?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&var=&hash=item4d0d07bd57
please tell me. I would like to know for buying proper brake pads.
Many thanks!

so you missed out the important bit what brakes do you have?
if V brakes just get V brakes."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

they re surely v-brakes. I got two bikes with v-brakes at home and they have different pads. They differ in that rod's width. One tot 5.3 mm, the other like 6.7-7~0

Is one V and one cantilever?
Some cheap V's use cantilever pads.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Those 5.3 mm that I need are like this http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/conten ... _arms.jpeg
and those ~7mm from the other bike that I am NOT looking for are like that http://www.sz-wholesaler.com/userimg/12 ... 06-928.jpg0 -
So you're looking for ones with a thread, rather than just a 'rod'. Those ones in the ebay ad should fit then.0

they are Canti brakes on cheap V brakes."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

So the top ones are the usual v-brakes(with 5.3 mm wide rod),
the lower ones are cantilever brake pads fitted to a bit different kind of v-brakes?0 -
Yes.....but 'different kind' means cheap and nasty (mostly).Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
