new frame ... new cranks?

After a bit of advice.

I have just upgraded my old frame and got myself a fancy new one from Planet X, with the intention of swapping over my Shimano 105 triple groupset (FC-5600 cranks) onto the new frame. The new frame has a BB30 bottom bracket fitting but my old frame is a threaded BSA type.

I got an adapter (http://qwertycycles.co.uk/products/cann ... tAod1BUAQA) but having got it you need to glue it into a carbon frame and its going to invalidate any warranty on a brand new and expensive frame so I am reluctant to use this now.

Should I bite the bullet and buy a new crankset/BB30 bottom bracket instead, and do I have to get a specific one that is compatible with my Shimano triple gearing? Or has anyone used one of these adapter successfully before?

Any recommendations gratefully received.

Thanks

Neil

as you say, if you don't want to glue it in then you'll have to get a BB30 triple c/set. Shimano obviously don't do them so you'll have to go with either Sram or FSA (but I'm not sure what's out there with triples)

There are other BB30/24mm spindle adaptors available that don't require adhesive. Try Wheels Manufacturing or KCNC - you can simply press these into place and have no impact on warranties etc.

Rotor do a bottom bracket for BB30 frames that allows you to fit a Shimano 24mm chainset http://www.rotorbike.com/products/road/versions/bb30-frame_41
