FSA MegaExo BB
I own a Felt AR4 which comes with FSA Team issue chainset with carbon crank arms and a MegaExo BB. My bike is under a year old, and I have covered around 1200miles on it (mostly dry weather however id do live in Scotland! ) The bike has now developed a slight creek coming from the BB.
My first question - Is this about the right amount of time/life span/mileage you get out of a BB?
Second question - What style of BB do I replace it with? I want something that is slightly better to replace it with. Are BB’s with ceramic bearings worth the money?
I'm relatively new to cycling and I am a bit confused with all the different BB's out there, so any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks guys

I'd almost put money on it NOT being the bottom bracket.
check pedals, chain-ring bolts - check the crank is tight, does it creek if you stand or sit ?...could be seat post, bars , stem...endless list.
I'd expect BB to last fair bit more....FSA ones are pretty tough.
If your feeling like a bit of DIY take the crank off and feel what the BB bearing are like...stiff or free spinning. The BB could also need tightening....that happended to me once0 -
I wouldn't put money on it not being the BB
The lower end FSA bottom brackets were a bit patchy IME. I went through a couple in not dissimilar mileage before changing to Shimano.0 -
Having said that, one of my riding buddies had his for 6 years (mileage unknown) before it needed replacing.0

I've just replaced my 105 BB with an Ultegra one I got cheap from CRC. I was thinking it was the cause of a regular click on the drive-side downstroke, and I could see it was exuding grease from the drive side cup so concluded the seals were going. 5000 miles of all weather riding, so it didn't owe me anything.
Didn't made a blind bit of difference to the click!
However I've now just moved all the kit over to a new CR1 frame; be interesting to see if I have also transferred the click...0 -
so could be any of the normal creak places causing that noise but BB:
there are 2 types, the quad (extra wide cranks) and normal exo bb
Mine was the normal, so I changed mine for a s/s hope unit when it bit the dust
if its a quad then fsa only.....0
