Well time has come to replace the trusty Carrera Vulcan as per my other post. My riding is mainly cc around Rivington, Darwen Moors, Gisburn and Lee Quarry, budget is £1500 using 0% finance through Leisure lakes or any others who offer it. I have only seen two options so far a specialized camber and a cube. Are these any good or something else?

and

Or a Normal 26 er wheel size

Or do i stick to Hardtails?

All terrible for the money. Don't bother with finance, you never get good deals with it. Just use an interest free creidt card, then you can buy anywhere.
This is much better than any of your links- http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s1p442 ... %282012%29
Not quite as good as the Trance but not bad if you want a 29er http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s154p4 ... %282012%29

There are loads of other options.

I know a few people who really rate Cubes.

I'm a big fan of Spesh's but I know their spec is generally lower than an equivalently price bike from one of the smaller brands that focus on price as a selling point. Saying that I don't own one anymore. All of the Spesh's I've had ride really well.

Lots of people rate the Gaint Trance but it wouldn't get my vote but that's a personal thing really.

I know it's going to be difficult, but the best thing to do is ride them and see what you think. A bike can have the best spec in the world but if the bike isn't a good fit or you don't like the ride you aren't going to like it.

I nearly bought that 2012 Trance X2 myself last week.

My major question I need to answer first is. I currently have a upgraded Carrera Vulcan. Do I go for a pricier Hardtail or a full suspension. My missus has a Canondale trail Sl4 and it rides much nicer than my Carrera. I enjoy mainly forest trails, and gisburn, I enjoy Gisburns hope line. And didn't seem to mind being battered by rocks and ruts that have appeared on Hilly gully.

Fs or HT is down to personal preference. There is no correct answer. I am lucky to have ht and fs and love them both.

Ride somes bikes and decide what you like.

Why not put a new fork on the Vulcan? And maybe new wheels?

It has upgrades. New wheels, slx discs. And a Tora Air fork. I'm not keen on the geometry of the frame. I think it's too big! It's 20 inch and feels scary on downhills. Girlfriends Cannondale is 17inch and she is a inch or two smaller than me and hers feels perfect.

    How tall are you?

So why not buy a frame the right size and rebuild the parts into it.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    I'm 5 ft 11 and I'd rather have a complete bike again.

Unfortunately most of what you have picked seems worse specced than what you have.

I'd look for others who do 0% if you can't find anything else. That Spesh Camber - I had to look at it twice, thought the price was a misprint.

I'm 5' 10" and my 20" Carrera Kraken fits fine with a 90mm stem and saddle pushed to the front of its adjustment. Those ruts toward the end of Hully Gully really could do with filling in though.

I'm not fully set on a full suss. A nice trail Hardtail I can get on finance either from Leisure Lakes or online retailer would also suit me just fine. I don't know if I'd benefit from a full susser.

Like that very much. Any other options or is that the best for the money.
