I'm currently riding a Marin Mount Vision FRS(2002) which runs in at about 25lb. Every item on the bike is no more than 3 years old but the rear shock and forks(pace RC38ht) are old hat now and are due for upgrade which isnt gonna be cheap. I mainly ride XC and I'm just woundering if to sell on the marin and buy a new Hardtail(approx £1k)

Good move? bad move? and advice would be a great help

Why not just buy a new frame and forks? You could get a full sus frame and a good fork for that budget.

I'm selling a large Titus Ftm carbon frame with Monarch rt3 rear shock, headset, seatclamp and spare mech hanger. Advert and pics in the classifieds.

It's up for £300 but could knock a bit off for collection as I'm in Nottingham. You can get a decent second hand air fork, Rev or Sektor for £200 or less, which would get you a great setup for half your budget.
