Hi all,

Recently bought a new bike, and have managed to swap everything across from the old bike except for my Carbon seatpost. I cannot for love nor money get it removed. I've sprayed WD liberally, and theres now minimla movement compared to none beforehand, but there seems little chance of it coming much further!

Am I missing a trick here?

Many thanks in advance

If your old frame is steel or alloy, with the bike on its side pour quite warm water on the seat tube covering the area where the seat pin is stuck , the metal will expand more than the carbon making it easy to remove with a twist.

I dont know the expansion rates for carbon, so I dont know if it will work for a carbon frame

Time travel back in time and put some carbon slip stuff on the post before you insert it.

To get more purchase turn bike upside down and put your feet on underside of the saddle. you can then pull and twist at the frame to see if you can free it up.

if its an alu frame then alternate hot and cold on the frame might help to break the seal between frame and post.
