First ride

I know it is hardly enough to brag but just finished my first ride. 6km is hardly massive but after horrific fib break which is still unfused feels like a massive achievement! I loved it! Currently riding a hand me down hybrid York road bike... May look at purchasing a 'proper' road bike for the summer! Anyone had experience of triban 3? Or can recommend others for less than £300?

Well done on getting out there James, if you are coming back from a bad injury then just take your time. The Triban 3 reviews very well and gets lots of positive comments on here so I doubt you will go wrong. Decathlon customer service also usually gets a thumbs up. 6km today, 10km next time and then before you know 100km will be done and dusted.Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/

Thanks for advice!!!
Another question would be which is best app for iPhone to log rides, or are GPS/computers better?0 -
Not sure if you have heard of Strava? http://www.strava.com/ That would be the best one in my opinion. Your local area will have lots of segments where you can compare yourself to other riders and more importantly to yourself on certain sections of road to see how you are improving. Its quite addictive but good fun all the same.
The strava iphone app is quite good, you may eventually want a dedicated GPS like a Garmin which also upload to strava. But for now just enjoy your riding and dont worry too much about speed or times. That will come later!!Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/
