Hello
I am literally bouncing off the walls today as i've just booked flights for a friend and I to go Moab mtbing later this year
He's been out before but I haven't - so who's been out there who can reassure me how amazing it is and how much i'm going to love it??! I may even build up a new bike to take out - yes this is completely unnecessary but may be just the excuse i've been looking for

I've had a really frustrating afternoon at work as I want to be talking to to people about how AMAZING this is going to be, but I am surrounded by non-cyclists (only for the next 2 weeks..) and they really couldn't care lessLife is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away....

Right then...so if anybody is reading this thread and HAS been before, I have another question for Miss Notax and I on our trip...
So I've been before...Once for two days and another time for three. This time we're there for a whole week. The Whole Enchilada...twice I would say. If we're feeling like a pair of boneheads, wee could make an all-day ride out of it and get to the top WITHOUT shuttle. Then there's the famous ones like Poison Spider (three - four hours up and down), Amasa Back, Klondike Bluffs etc etc which we will of course ride. I think basically, a decent length trail in the morning and another in the afternoon. But I think the best of Moab can be achieved in three days, so here's my question...
What trails in Moab are a MUST in your opinion and what trails are a ways out of town that should also be ridden? Is it worth a long day-trip to the Colorado borders, like Durango or Telluride?
Moab can occupy most of the week, but shame to miss an opportunity if a few hours drive can give you something special.0 -
