Dunwich Dynamo - getting the train back...

Hi all,
Might be doing the dunwich dynamo in a few weeks with my little bro...but all the coaches back are sold out.
Anyone got the train back before? I know the nearest station is 4 miles away and has a train run through every two hours - but how many people can get on this with bikes? Anyone done this before and how long did you have to wait? Is it worth it?
I'm guessing we'll be a good few hours behind the faster riders so might be in a queue...which in my head means we could be waiting all day if they only let a few bikes on every two hours with dozens/hundreds waiting...
And yeah I know Ipswich station is only 30 miles away, was hoping not to have to ride that as well
Cheers in advance, and let me know of any other dunwich dynamo advice if you have any

From what I remember doing it a few years ago, the trains only have room for two bikes per carriage and a) you need to pre book the train b) they are always full because people really do go to Ipswich in order to get on first.Reporter: "What's your prediction for the fight?"
Clubber Lang: "Prediction?"
Reporter: "Yes. Prediction"
Clubber Lang: "....Pain!!!"0 -
Do the organisers have a standby list for the coaches in case anybody drops out?
If you've got a car and bike rack you could always drive to the finish and get the train back the day before, then your return transport will be waiting for you.0 -

Yeah we might well do that, might save a lot of pain getting back0 -
There is a standby list for the coaches, and I believe there's a special train from Darsham this year with space for more bikes. There was one last year, even though the uptake was low.
