What tyres for a Specialized Crosstrail?

Hi Folks,
Could do with a bit of help with tyres.
I have a 2010 Specialized crosstrail and the time has come to get some new tyres. On there at the moment are Specialized Borough XC Sport 700×45c.
Being a bit of a novice when it comes to different types of tyres, I was wondering if there are other options I could go for?
I do a mix of off and on road, more favouring the off road.
Any suggestions welcomed!
