Headset Help

I'm getting really confused (not difficult tbh).
The Cane Creek headset finder says the headset on my Canyon is an Upper - ZS44, Lower IS52/40.
I checked this and am pretty happy it is correct.

Now I want a Works Components tapered headset, but their website says the Canyon fitment works with a Upper - EC44, Lower - IS52.
But isn't the EC44 a Lower headset cup? or is it changed to EC44 Upper in order to provide the offset?

I'm certain the headset is compatible with my frame, but the conflicting info is putting me off, hoping someone can clarify as I've asked Works but didn't really understand what they said lol.

it is just a size external cup 44mm as opposed to a ZS internal 44mm cup."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

ahhhhhh ok. Thats what I didn't realise.
I thought that the headtube was ZS or EC specific so couldn't understand how it would work.
That clears things up though, cheers!0 -
it is but it is not. they have made a new "standard" to do what they do."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
