Planning on ordering these tomorrow for my Dartmoor Hornet:

http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/f ... -2013.html

These are the best priced, tapered, 150mm forks that I could find that are appropiate.

Just thought I'd post to see if anyone had any other suggestions.

If you're on a budget I know On-One are doing Sektor RL's for £220. Not sure if they were the tapered ones or not though

What have you heard? Are good forks.

That they're not good forks. I can't remember who I heard it from - chances are a riding buddy. I value your advice higher however and think you may have changed my mind.

They use the same chassis as the revelation, are solo air (if you want) and the RL is motion control. You lose the floodgate adjustment, but the RL is still a top fork!

Can't argue with that, didn't know about the similar construction.

I've been looking in the same market for a new build. I kept going round in circles. I was after a tapered fork with 15mm ... oh and I'm picky and wanted black.

The On-One Sektor RL's were a great price but straight steerer only.

I then found some tapered Sektor TK's, but apparently these have poorer damping compared with the RL's. Shame as they were cheap!

I also spotted those Revs at Merlin, but the Dual Position Rev's don't get the praise of the fixed position ones. Note here not to confusion Dual Air with Dual Position, different things.

On-One have some Dual Air Rev's for £329. I nearly went for them but ended up ordering some Fox Float 32 150's from Freeborn this morning, hopefully will arrive tomorrow.

Im just going to get a crown reducer and a normal headset if i go for these forks. There wont be any foreseeable issues with that will there?

I was thinking bout fox, but I'd need the FIT damper which tends to be expensive

    Should be fine.

    The Float's I picked up have the FIT damper - http://www.freeborn.co.uk/fox-racing-sh ... avel-forks

I had a 10min ride on a set and they felt pretty good - especially as I just jumped on someone else's bike - didn't set up sag etc. I'm pretty sure it was a dual-air but I could be wrong

All Sektors are solo air (if air), but Dual Position coil is available.

hmm...defo air so must've been solo then. Seemed decent enough and for £220 seems like a bit of a bargain

May be a stupid question, but will a straight steerer in a tepered headtube look any different from a tapered steerer? I mean once it's fitted

Also, Is this an appropiate headset seeing as it comes with both crownraces?

It will look slightly different where the crown ends and the streerer starts, but not really noticeable.

thst will fit but it is pretty heavy!
