Have a broken 10 speed shifter so looking at replacing them. Presently have a 2007 veloce shifter so wondering whether to upgrade to Centaur or something above. Can only see Centaur or veloce in monst places. Centaur are more expensive and have some carbon bling on them. Just wondered if it worths the extra expense. Any recommendations would be most welcome.

If you buy current Centaur or Veloce it will be a downgrade to your Veloce. They no longer has the multiple shift functionality on the button and the carbon bling is now just a wrap over alloy rather than the true carbon only structure of the earlier Centaur shifters.

What is wrong with the broken shifter? You can get pretty much everything repaired for much less than you'd pay for a new shifter. Eg try Velotech.

Unless you've broken the lever body, then the old lever should be repairable, particularly if it have the micro-ratchet rather than the escape mechanism which is a downgrade IME.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
