but they don't have rubber seals on them or at least the side you can see, not sealed.......... no outdoor use
so they could be for just about anything
but they are fitted to DC motors, industrial gear reducers, torque converters and the list is almost endless, most don't see water or soil and are oil bathed
does that box have a manufacture date of march 1981?0 -
608 bearings are used on some wheels - some versions of Mavic Ksyrium but wouldn't fancy using an unshielded bearing for anything bike-related. Kamsins do use cartridge bearings, but don't know the size.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

I would not be able to bring myself to throw away useable bearings. I don't know whether to be impressed by your self-discipline or appalled at the waste.- - - - - - - - - -
