Vive le Tour! Wonderful old film by Louis Malle
Apologies if you have seen this before, but I have just watched this short made at the Tour in the early 1960s. In spite of the fact that I love cycling AND French films, I have never seen it before.

It's about 18-20 mins. I haven't managed to track down the transcript yet but will add a link if I can find it.
(I have nothing better to this this afternoon, obviously )

its four days before the Tour. What could be better use of time than hunting down old movies?0

1962 TdF. Narrated by Jean Bobet. With subtitles:

Aahh! Hadn't spotted the subtitled version, but we were watching it in a French lesson so it would have been cheating.
'Heir j'ai souffre tellement des fesses!' sounds much more poetic than 'Yesterday my butt really hurt'.0 -
1962 in glorious colour as well. Nice eh.0

The colour is superb, even on projected on the whiteboard in a classroom.
I just love that era. The bikes are so elegant and the jerseys are great. Love the bit when they stop and go into a bar for beer!0
