I might be going to Malta next year. I've never been but have seen that it's just smaller than the Isle of Wight. Has anyone cycled there? Would it be worth taking a bike?

My in laws live there and it would not be my first choice for cycling. There is a lot of traffic, the roads are either quite wide and fast boulevards around Valetta or quite small main roads out in the country, although there are some quite small lanes into the central hills, but as there is generally a lot of traffic they can be quite busy. It is very hot and dry in the summer. Above all the locals definitely drive with attitude and the side of the road they drive on is determined by which side is currently in the shade.

    Out of season, possibly.

During holiday season, potential for disaster.

I lived there quite a while ago and from what I gather it's got busier and the roads are not any better. Have a browse on Strava and see what the locals are doing.
