He was an exciting rider to watch but hopefully not for the wrong reasons. It seems he was a bit of a handful to manage, as well. Maybe he will make a comeback of some kind on the South American scene in the future. He seemed happiest there in between placements with his numerous European teams.

The anti-doping advocates in South America dont want him back. They've got enough of a fight on their hands as it is, trying to highlight how much doping is going on/lack of effort to seriously tackle it. For example, there was no testing carried out at all, at the recent Mexican nats.0
