kmc quicklinks
Just ordered a go faster super fast 10speed kmc chain from wiggle . Its comes with a quick link, the question is do I need the 'special' pliers to fit the chain ? If so any body in Woking willing to lend me theirs as it seems expensive just for a pair of pliers.

For fitting you won't,taking apart again can be tricky without the taking apart pliers.0

you don't need the tool to take apart
Take it apart every few weeks (depends upon how you clean the chain) any how.
Easiest way to NOT NEED THE TOOLS - is to make sure its in the smallest chainring front and back, so there is low tension on the chain.0 -

+1. If you really need help put a bent piece of metal, like an old spoke that loops into the chain links. That way you can keep the chain tension off while you slip the link apart. All you need is a firm pinch either side and slide it apart.0 -
Easier said then done?
I just installed a new chain with a quick link. Was a right ball ache. Nothing quick about it. Not looking forward to removing it for a clean.
Now I'm worried its not on properly.0 -
Put link on loosely as best you can, turn the pedals so the link is at the top of the chain run between front and back, pull front brake, step on pedal. Look at chain in amazement as the link is now in place. These are part of the instructions included with the quick-link/chain ...0
