New bike or just upgrade frame?

I bought a Specialized Allez Sport last year. Since which time I have upgraded wheels to Fulcrum Racing 5 and groupset to SRAM Rival. So all that is original build is frame and forks.

I therefore have a spare groupset (albeit Sora, though with 9 speed Ultegra levers) and wheels. In other words enough components for two bikes. And I fancy a new bike!

I am tempted to just buy a carbon frame and put the SRAM and new wheels on it and return the Allez to original spec as a winter bike. Can anyone see any benefit from buying a new bike as opposed to just a frame? It strikes me that anything less than Ultegra would be a downgrade from my current setup.

I've installed the upgrades myself so labour not an issue as I can install components on a frame myself (and indeed have the correct tools)

(for reference I ride 100+ miles per week, ride hilly sportives (finish in top 3rd) and on steep hills tend to be in top 10% on Strava).

Also, any less well-known frame suggestions?

Thanks in anticipation.

I would certainly take a look at the planet x stuff. I can't fault my new one.

Planet x & Ribble are probably 2 of the cheaper carbon frames I can think of, if i didn't get such a bargain on the SL Pro carbon I was going to pick up an RT87.
