Slightly damaged brake surface

Hi,
Has a minor crash at the weekend and noticed an odd noise when braking on the front wheel.
Had a look and noticed some minor scuffing to the metal brake surface on my wheel rim. Its over a small area, say 2x1cm. It doesnt seem to be affecting the braking at all, just makes a noise whenever that part of the wheel passes against the brake pads.
What would you do here, sand down with some course sand paper, or something else?
Thanks
David

If its light enough for you to still see the machining marks I probably wouldn't bother it will probably stop after a couple of rides as the brake bloke re-wears. If its deeper and you use wet and dry, you might well still get a noise0

Alternatively, if it is loud enough to hear, then it will probably use up a lot of brake pad before it polishes flat. A bit of wet and dry shouldn't do any harm - not sandpaper- and it doesn't need to be very coarse; the alloy is pretty soft. Don't try to make the marks disappear completely - just remove anything that is sticking out.Faster than a tent.......0
