CHANGING CASSETTE

Hi, I currently have an 8 speed 12 - 25 shimano sora cassette on my Carrera road bike, I want to change this to an 11 - 30. Do I need to buy a road specific cassette or can I fit a MTB one ? is there a difference ? Thank you :?

    I think they're all the same.

    Make sure your derailleur is the right size for the bigger back cog and the bigger range or gears you're planning on using.

    Either will be fine as long as it's a Shimano compatible cassette.

    as thistle (MBNW) says, you'll want a long-cage rear mech. You'll probably also need a longer chain.
