Commuting Tyre Advice

I currently ride to work 9 miles each way. Half is cycle way/bridle way and half on the road. I am looking at changing my tyres to help increase my speed on the road and decrease my travel time. My tyres at present are the Geax Saguaro 26x2.20. What would be my best choice taking into account the mixture of surfaces I'm riding on. Tempted by the marathon plus simply because of the puncture resistance but I know they are heavy. Puncture resistance is important as I have not suffered any with these current Geaxs.

Schwalbe Duranos 1.1 (28mm) very good on roads and OK on gravel etc just run 80-90 psi rather than 110 for a better balance. Good puncture resistance and better in the wet than Gators. Slicks will only really make you suffer in wet mud or if you pump them up too hard.I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0
