Hi,
Lately I've started road cycling quite a lot, and have decided to upgrade. I have been riding a Hybrid, and I'm really looking forward to start riding a quality road bike. I have pretty much settled for the Canyon Ultimate AL 9.0 Di2 ( http://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=3081#tab-reiter2) . But I'm a bit uncertain about size, and hope for some good advice :-) Since I don't have a road bike, I don't have a bike to take measurements from. I was recommended the size calculator at competitivecyclist.com I've listed the results below, I opted for the Eddy Fit as I want a more comfort fit than competitive. (http://www.competitivecyclist.com/pdf/fit_details.pdf)
I've been told top tube size is most important. According to my results I should have about 55cm top tube. The Ultimate AL in size M (56), has a top tube of 54.9 so it should suit me. But I have two concerns, the Seat Tube Length of M is 54.5cm. According to the calculator I should have about 59cm (maybe I'm misunderstanding this?) . Also, at 186 cm I'm above average height, so can I really be corrected that I should get a medium bike?
This being said, I'm not a competitive rider, so I prefer comfort over aggressive riding position.
Thank you for any help:-)

A cursory glance would suggest you will swamp a 56 Canyon. More likely to be a 58. I think maybe you could call Canyon to discuss. I read on here that people of a similar height have gone either 58 or 60.0

Do you have long legs and a short torso?0

Well I am 185 cm tall with an inseam of 91 cm and the Canyon PPS recommends a XL (60) frame for me so be surprised you are a M (56) as your inseam is only 4cm shorter than mine. I understand that the only measurement the PPS system takes notice of is the inseam. Worth checking with Canyon.0
