There is nothing in your immediate area but will depend on your location exactly - Chorley is your best bet, a young growing club although personally not a fan of their kit!
Preston has a few including Preston Wheelers and Lancashire CC which have been going for awhile - but are a bit North Preston focussed.
If you are close to Croston then have a look at the club I ride with, Harry Middletons CC (HMCC) based from Ormskirk outsider the Bicycle Lounge. I used to live in Rufford and rode down to join them, there is also a free car park (eve's/sundays) across from the shop if you dont want the ride down - great club, very social, diff ability groups to choose from. I now live in Rivington but still ride with them, despite the distance, as it's a great club - website here (however it's out of date (old kit etc) as we have a new site ready to launch http://hmiddletoncc.co.uk/) - the cafe stop is usually at Rufford marina rides usually take in Eccleston/Mawdesley/Croston at some point.

Join Sky Ride and British Cycling. It is then easy to contact local buddies and advertise for rides.

Bill nickson has a chain gang on thursday night from the black bull on dunkirk lane, leyland. It can be a bit daunting at first but if you stick with it you'll soon start to see improvements.

Thanks all, been out with the chainy on the last two thursdays, got dropped both times, but will keep going, just need to find a like minded buddy looking to improve.
Like the sound of Harry Middleton CC, met a few of the guys at Ashurst Hill climb last year and seemed a friendly bunch, but think im looking closer to home, as im limited time wise.

I'd say Chorley CC would be your best bet. Fantastic group of people although I'm biased as I'm a member :) but unfortunately had to move down south for work so will be looking for a new club. I'd certainly recommend the intro ride they do on Saturday mornings, fantastic way to introduce yourself and it's at a dead easy pace.

    Website here: http://www.chorleycyclingclub.co.uk/

Have a look at the calendar part which has got all the rides on it.

Mr Joe, thats sounds perfect. I can only do Tues, as wanting to go with the chain gang on Thurs. I could meet you at the Black Bull or down Longmeanygate/Wholesome lane area. What time do u reckon?

I'm in Standish. I regularly ride down to Euxton Hall and through Croston.
