Bike park wales trip.

This is probably not the best place to put this but it does involve some buying.
Me and my brother are planning a trip to bike park wales, starting on august 10th for 3-4 days. we will be hiring bikes when we get there. we still need somewhere to stay. any ideas? Does anyone have any ideas of an approximate cost of this trip.

Anyway onto the buying.
i currently have 1 oneten base layer, 1 fox reverb jersey, 1 pair of endura humvee's, 1 pair of endura full monty gloves , i also have a helmet, shoes and a decent multi tool

for my 3-4 day trip i was thinking of buying 2-3 more base layers another jersey and maybe another pair of shorts and a pair of sun glasses.

Do i really need this much kit? and what would you guys recommend. any recommendations need to be available in fat guys size ie no tight fitting xc tops.

Use it when snowboarding and when last biking in Wales for a few days. Just an idea but a couple of pairs of socks and base layers is always good idea when the weather changes so much from day to day in Wales. Anyway have a great trip.

I believe you are correct though from what I have heard that seems optimistic.

Trails are due to open in September and the official opening with the uplifts and everything in full flow maybe a bit later "autumn 2013".

I find two of everything is handy so that you can rinse and dry one set on alternate days if they get filthy

I don't think there's any bike focused places yet (like the lodges that have sprung up in afan) but I don't imagine it will be long before the entrepreneurial business owners get on it..

Just spoken to back on track on fb. Apparently trails will be open in August - a month ahead of schedule. They haven't got back to me with actual dates yet

ah - I stand corrected.

I find the 15 quid endura glasses are great if you need coloured lenses (to be honest depending on the rain yellows are a pretty good choice for light enhancing and fooling yourself into thinking about Californian sunshine... Plus sheap as chips if they get scratched, lost or broken. Proper shades you may want something more fashionable perhaps to wear off the bike as well but that's down to you.

Bolle safety glasses, under a tenner, various lenses - I use clear because like Wales, the rest of the UK has sh1t weather as well. To us colonials anyway.
