I run EPS on the Dogma and have decided it's time to tidy up the cabling. At the moment the EPS cable and the brake cabling looks like this:

I'd like it to look like this (although WTF is up with the spacers?) Picture+013.jpg

My question is - is that just very neatly cut and wrapped electrical tape, or is there a product out there I can buy to do the job?

Cheers.

Thanks all. Anyone know what size I'm best off buying? I'd rather not order from Rose as they're based in Germany...

What is the average diameter of a cable?

Say 5mm x N (where N is number of cables that you want to join) = The size you want to buy.

I have a similar thing for my PC cables.

I'd go with 19mm (but find some in black).

Simple book binder from the stationery cupboard would sort you out. Pick a colour. No one in the office would hold it against you.

Rose are fine. I've ordered. A bunch of stuff from them. Inside the EU so no nasty VAT/duty bills on arrival.

    +1

Service and delivery from Rose is better than and faster than most British companies. And remember, even places like ChainReactionCycles aren't in England either.

Oh! And size doesn't matter. The cable expands to any thickness (just turn the ends in opposite directions and it can cover a cable as fat as your thumb).

But Rose ship from Germany - P&P is around 8 Euros I think. Will head to Maplin.

Yup, if he saw my bikes he'd have a fit... They're dirty, there are cables hangin' out all over the place etc. As long as they run smoothly, nothing rubs, they're well greased etc, within reason I couldn't give a cr@p what they look like...

Probably would, although my commuter is usually pretty grubby.

It's only by regular cleaning that you can check for problems though... if I hadn't cleaned my wheels the other day I wouldn't have spotted this - which could had led to a wheel failure mid ride.

Hopefully it'll be covered under Zipp's warranty. Still have no idea how it happened.

That tumble you took in RP the other day? If you laid the bike over on top of a small stone, I'd guess it wouldn't take much force for the stone to punch through the side of the rim like that, especially if it had a sharp corner.

I was on the winter bike yesterday. Zipps were already damaged.

and if its not... 808 tubs?

F8ck no. I have need of neither 808's nor tubs.

    Some Hyperon 2's OTOH...
  • How the hell are you worried about tidying your cable layout when you have that many spacers! slam that stem and then take a long look in the mirror!
If I know you, and I like you, you can borrow my bike box for £30 a week. PM for details.

If you bothered to read the post you'd see that photo 2 is not my bike. Photo 1 is and the stem is pretty much slammed...
