    3. Own (or at the very least hire for a weekend) an Aston. If loaded I would buy a DB5 and a current model - probably a Vanquish.

    1 and 2, I can help with!

If I win Euromillions, an Aston is the first thing on my list, so you there's a 1 in 153 million possibility I can help you with 3 too.

    I could help with 1 and 2, but regarding 3, the best I can offer is a 12 year old Audi A6 estate . . .
Got a place in the Pyrenees.
    Do bike and ski stuff.

Let's make a deal then, if I win the Euros I'll buy two and give you one of them and vice versa.

Switzerland is high on my list of places to emigrate these days with Canada and New Zealand but not sure how easy it is for a Highway Engineer who only speaks English to get a job there!

TBH, there is something very special about driving an Aston Martin, ok they are far from fast but there really is no need to drive quick in an Aston, its an experience, a great one.

    Time for a career change?

Yep, that's what appeals to me. I love the sound and they just have class, I know there are plenty faster although Astons aren't exactly slouches, but other than a couple of Ferrari models I find most supercars a bit too flash and tacky. I got passed on a ride by a DB5 a few weeks back and the sound was incredible. I think being a bit of a Bond fan has had a big influence too!

I wish, can't afford a pay cut and can't see anyone taking me on in a role I've got no experience in at my current salary. Saw my dream job recently but they wanted a good science or engineering degree but not civils.

A couple of years back I got to drive the only car ever to driver round the world, then back again the opposite way. It was a vantage with over 120k on the clock and drove wonderfully.
I only drove it to an event in London but what a great day it was.
Its actually amazing how people react differently to cars that you drive, I once was driving a Gallardo on the M42 and could see a couple of girls in a car trying to catch me up and they had their mobile phones on camera hoping I was famous or something, there was a real look of dissapointment as they realised it was just a fat guy in a car

    1. Watch my beloved Rangers at Madison Square Gardens (might have to hurry for this one cos I suspect it will be replaced in the next few years).

    2. Own a Harley Davidson (will become achievable after no 3 I hope).

    3. Climb Sydney Harbour Bridge (planning on doing this as a part of my honeymoon next year).

Me & Mrs V did the bridge climb in Oct 2011 - what an experience !!! Allow 3 hours, we went on the 2:30 departure and came off the arch as the sun dipped under the horizon. The view was incredible...

We were passed by one of these a few months ago around Knockhill that must have been a dealers test drive as they were not available. http://www.jaguar.co.uk/f-type/f-type-m ... type-v8-s/
Much better in the flesh than on screen. It left more of an impression than any Aston, and they are impressive enough!

Roadworks round the corner stopped him and when we caught up he said the blip to pass us cost £8 in petrol. I think he was joking.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

The new jags are great but at £80k it wouldn't be on my list.
They are just too expensive when new compared to a year old.
The XKRS is a monster car of great value at a couple of years old so that's the best choice at the minute.

Another great bargain is the Bentley Continental at the price of a decent Audi or BMW.

    True.
I always buy ex-demo or 1 year old cars.

Past one on the M4 the day before their official release and didn't like it, saw another a few days later which looked better and then a third that I didn't like. I think a lot depends on the angle you look at it from and the colour but I'd rather any Aston (other than a Cygnet!).

#3 is easy. Make your own in a decent sized shed . Im still playing with extract kits but the chief exec now has a 10x8 ft brew house in his garden complete with temp controlled aging store.

I assume you're not referring to the September sportive in Luchon? Anyhow, I'd like to ride some of the iconic US climbs, so if you're done with you're bucket list, you may have to help' me out with mine

Strange isn't it what with where you live now, that would be something many here would have on their list and what they have here is on yours!

Just came across this ancient thread and it left me wondering - Smidsey, what was your day like? I would have thought you would have updated all of the rest of us that missed out on VTech's fabulous offer, just to make us envious.
Besides, a full report is the least you owe VTech.
