im after a new hydration pack and was looking at the camelbak mule as it seems to get some good reviews but i was really after something with a built in rain cover as i ride in all kinds of weather conditions which unfortunately the mule dosent have but the NV does.
Is it possible to remove the strange back vent stuff that comes on the NV model as it doesnt look very comfy to me? or any recommendations for a decent pack about the size of the mule but with a built in rain cover

Or how about a cheap Tesco Hydration pack, cheap as chips ( £8 on offer ) is water tight and quite comfortable to wear.

hi i just got the mule not used it yet but the material dos not seem very tough as my just one CAMELBAK chaos.
looking at the rest of the camelbaks none of them look as tough.

i dont think the air vents will come off the NV model. if you dont like the air vents just go with the standard mule.
the built in rain cover only means its got its own pocket and a bit of string to keep it attached to the bag.
i would go with the standard mule bag and also buy the mule rain cover.and if there isnt any where to keep the rain cover for quick access buy a little bag to attach to the out side where you can get quick access to it.

something like this that you can clip to the bag http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nylon-Waist-B ... 2c6f31106b.
