Anyone ridden Longmynd area of Shropshire?

As the title says....has anyone ridden the Longmynd area of Shropshire in the last few years? more to the point has anyone done the MTB Series Events over the last couple of years there and if so what did you make of them?

    Yes. I did the Marshbrook MTB marathon last year and I've also ridden there a few times for fun. What did I make of it? The Marshbrook Marathon was quite tough.

    My first reaction when I saw events being held at Marshbrook was that it would not offer much challenge nor even nice scenery particularly. I was completely wrong - one of the best events and locations you could wish for and I have biked alot in Wales, the Peaks, the Lakes as well as abroad.

    The sections through the forest (snailbach or something) could be a swampy nightmare in some summers though, and I enjoyed it best in the dry.

    I did the Marshbrook event on sunday and it was PERFECT, although two days on I am still cooling down!
